Raw temperature and salinity timeseries from moorings in Hornsund fjord

Dataset consisting of continuous measurements of temperature and salinity from bottom-moored instruments. The measurements are obtained at fixed depths in varying locations across the Hornsund fjord. The pre-programmed measurement interval varies from 10 seconds to 10 minutes. The files are named with the mooring ID consisting of the acronym for the area, the running number for the deployment in that area (format Mnn), measured parameters (CTD for Conductivity-Temperature-Depth, TD for Temperature-Depth, T for Temperature) and the deployment depth, followed by the deployment and recovery dates (format YYYYMMDD) as well as the stage of data processing (for this dataset "raw"). The main directory includes a list of all moorings (list_of_moorings.txt) with the timespan of measurements, coordinates, and instrument used. READ_ME.txt file contains information on known exceptions.

The header in each file consists of 10 lines and includes information on geographical location (decimal degrees), deployment and recovery dates (YYYY-MM-DDThh:mm:ss), bottom and instrument depths, the instrument used for measurements and source of financial support. There are 3-6 data columns. For the T and TD moorings, the columns are Date/Time (YYYY-MM-DDThh:mm:ss), Pressure (dbar) and Temperature (°C). For the moorings without pressure sensor (only T), pressure column is marked as NaN and the estimated instrument depth can be found in the header. The CTD moorings include additional columns for Conductivity (mS/cm), Practical salinity and Density represented as Sigma-Theta (kg/m**3). Conductivity, Practical salinity and Density are calculated by the software provided by the instrument manufacturer. This is raw data and no quality control is performed; the data may include, for example, data measured while in air or during deployment/recovery in the beginning and end of the data. The data columns are tab-delimited and the data stored in ASCII-formatted .txt-files.
